In 2014, Bearhugs Nursery in Horncastle, Lincolnshire won a competition run by Bradleys Surfacing Systems for a free surface for their outdoor play area. Due to the lease expiring on their premises, the nursery had to move locations, which meant the surface moved with them.
The modular nature of the PermaPlay sub-base replace means that areas can be uplifted and relocated quite easily, which would not be possible with a traditional build. As a result, schools and nurseries can adapt their surfacing to changes that occur either though relocation or expansion – it makes sense both in terms of the investment and sustainability.
